Ttornado confirmed in Mount Ephraim, New Jersey

Eyewitness NewsMOUNT EPHRAIM (WABC) -- National Weather Service officials have determined that a tornado touched down in New Jersey Tuesday.

National Weather Service meteorologist Mitchell Gaines says Camden County officials reported damaged homes and downed trees in the Philadelphia suburb of Mount Ephraim.

Also, weather service radar Tuesday indicated that clouds could have been moving in a circular pattern.

Home video shot during the storm also showed what appeared to be a funnel cloud forming.

A tornado warning had been issued for the souther part of the state.

When it was all over, high winds brought down a number of large trees and power lines and heavy rain caused flash flooding on some roads.

In Toms River, the sidewalk wasn't spared, and that meant wading through high water for one woman.

Ocean County got some of the day's heaviest rain.
