Eyewitness NewsNEWARK (WABC) -- Newark police have one person in custody after shots were fired on a quiet street overnight Thursday. Police say the suspect may have been using a tow truck to steal a car.
That person apparently spotted a squad car and took off.
Officers caught up with the suspect near Barbara and Magazine streets just after 2 a.m.Shots were fired, but it's still unclear who fired them and whether anyone was hit.
