The MVC announced Thursday it is ready to start accepting driver's license and non-driver ID renewals by mail.
The "Skip the Trip" program will apply to all documents that expire this November. Anyone born on or before Dec. 1, 1964 will be able to send renewal forms through the mail.
The MVC is able to process the renewals using security procedures that employ facial recognition technology.Customers who opt to visit an MVC office will still have to furnish six points of ID.
Renewal by mail won't be permitted for customers with commercial or graduated driver's licenses, temporary visa restrictions, boat licenses or suspended licenses.
