Mom charged after girl, 8, found dead in NJ

  Eyewitness NewsIRVINGTON (WABC) -- An 8-year-old girl was found dead in her New Jersey home Sunday, and police have charged her mother with child endangerment.

Officers responded to the home on Chancellor Avenue in Irvington after the mom said she found her daughter not breathing.

The young girl was pronounced dead at the scene.

Authorities haven't determined why she died, and are waiting for the results of an autopsy.

Two other children who were in the home have been placed in state custody.
