Jet from NJ makes emergency landing in Louisville

AP  Eyewitness NewsLOUISVILLE, Ky. -- A commercial jet has made a precautionary emergency landing at Louisville International Airport.

Jim Faulkner, a spokesman for American Airlines, said a cockpit indicator showed a fuel transfer problem Monday afternoon so the plane landed as a precaution. No one was injured.

American Airlines flight 2559 with 142 passengers and a crew of five reported the emergency around 4:50 p.m. The MD-80 aircraft landed safely just after 5 p.m, and continued on later to Dallas Fort Worth International Airport. .
