Caught on tape: Hockey player jumps through glass

  Eyewitness NewsNEW JERSEY (WABC) -- A New Jersey hockey player celebrated a goal and ended up showered with broken glass.

Junior hockey player Taylor Cox scored his second goal of the game for the New Jersey Junior Titans and skated towards the wall of the rink, where he was in for quite a surprise.

As he jumped up against the boards, the glass shattered, sending him careening into the bleachers though the shards.

Cox was not injured.

After a quick replacement, the Titans went on to win their game against the New Jersey Rockets, 4-1.

Newark nightclub shooting caught on video

  Eyewitness NewsNEWARK (WABC) -- Police have released dramatic video of chaos erupting inside a crowded nightclub in Newark following a shooting that was captured on several cell phone cameras.

The incident happened happened in May in the Paladium Club.

A popular reggae artist was performing when a gunman opened fire, killing a fan and injuring a guard.

Amid the chaos, the shooter escaped.

"There were multiple people holding up their cell phones, recording the event," Essex County Prosecutor's Office Detective Carlo Olmo said. "And we believe that some of the images or the video obtained on the phones may help us in our investigation."

Police are hoping that video will help catch the suspect.

Sexual assault suspect caught on tape in Trenton

  Eyewitness NewsTRENTON (WABC) -- Police hope that surveillance will help them catch the man who carried out a disturbing sexual assault in New Jersey.

The suspect was seen speaking to the 54-year-old victim in Trenton just before the assault on May 2.

The man grabbed the woman around the neck, punched her and then dragged her to the ground, where he assaulted her.

The attacker is still on the loose.

Flyers fans caught on video attacking NJ cop

  Eyewitness NewsPHILADELPHIA (WABC) -- Police in Philadelphia hope video of a brutal beating of an off-duty New Jersey police officer will help find his assailants.

The fight broke out at a cheese steak stand, after Monday afternoon's hockey game between the Rangers and Flyers.

Three men in Flyers jerseys jumped two men wearing Rangers gear.

One of the Rangers fans is a police officer from Woodbridge, New Jersey.

He suffered a swollen eye and got several stitches.

Falcon freed after getting leg caught in NJ tree

  Eyewitness NewsPARK RIDGE -- It took a fire truck and a chain saw to do it, but animal control officers have freed a falcon stuck in a tree in northern New Jersey.

Authorities say the adult predator was found Tuesday afternoon hanging upside down high in a tree outside Park Ridge High School.

The bird's leg was tangled in rope, according to The Record (http://bit.ly/vSBorE).

An animal control officer climbed a fire truck's ladder and cut through branches to reach the bird.

The falcon was taken in for evaluation.
